Pretty Lovely Things

Happy Halloween everyone! After going out all weekend, I almost forgot that the actual holiday wasn’t until today! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend, enjoyed some treats (or 2 full bags of candy corn and candy pumpkins like this apartment did!), and has a great day!
I still got a picture message from my dad with the awesome pumpkin he carved, and my mom still sang me 5 little pumpkins. Good to know you never get too old for some things! xoxo

After a few months off, I’m back and ready for blogging action!

So a few important details have happened in my life…

one. I made it back safely and soundly from Nicaragua, with another great experience under my belt! Read about it here if you are so inclined pretties

two. me and the bf have taken the next step to roomie-ness! We moved in two weeks ago to our very own (okay, shared) Boston brownstone. Hence, you may notice a few more décor-inspired posts and DIYs in the future

three. I’ve graduated!! I actually graduated in 4 years instead of the usual 5 at my Uni, so I took part in the ceremony May 4th but still have to finish up 2 required courses this summer. Boo. Cue lots of complaining and IDGAF syndrome about all future coursework.

four. Hopefully all has been well with you lovelies and a big hug to you all! Missed ya <3

I love the shimmery bedspread, the gold chevron wall, and especially the adorable pup with a jewel-encrusted crown on! Everything about this photo is wonderful.

With all this free “vacation” time before I start my job, I have been doing a whole lot of nothing (which has been fabulous!). My days have been spent walking around the South End, making trips out to the beach, but most of all… pinteresting!
A few weeks months ago, I picked up a free cork board posted outside one of my classes thinking “hey! I could do something crafty with that”. Well, with classes and maintaining a social life on the weekends, the board has just been propped up against a blank wall for far too long. I finally recruited the BF to help with some DIY-ing and we started the process today.
I was inspired by this painted cork tile DIY I found via Pinterest. Since mine is more of a framed cork board, I’m opting to do one consistent chevron pattern, instead of the diamond pattern created by the tiles. I just did the base coat in a slate blue color (to match our duvet) and am debating between gold glitter or silver glitter for the pattern… decisions decisions! Any opinions?

I really like this design. It’s a good reminder that “forward” can be more than one direction.

día de los muertos print… amazing! Sorry for spamming with prints lately, but I am just loving them all! I think our new apartment will be covered in art (wherever it is, but hopefully the one we saw last night, eek!).
